Not the best for open fire without underhearth air Verified Purchase
Slow to light and produces some smell outside unless fully burning. Once gets going is clean burning with nice initial flame pattern. Lots of heat for very little coal used. However, produces a huge amount of clean sand like ash which on our open fire without underhearth draught soon filled up the ash pan and blocked the grate so that it then burnt very slowly. So no good for fires of more than a couple of hours. Poor all evening burning resulted in lots of part burnt bits which made cleaning out in the morning a big task as all these bits needed to be collected and recycled. The only smokeless fuel I've ever used where a normal evening's fire resulted in three ash pans full of ash instead of just the one. Unless you enjoy spending your time cleaning your fire out then I would avoid this and instead buy the excellent Real Flame Premium+
